Training

...  knowledge is the key to success

Education and training are critical components of a successful dosimetry program. GEX offers simple, topical, telephone-based training during standard business hours. In addition, web-based training or on-site training can be arranged with our customer service department. In the future, we will be implementing some training opportunities directly through this website.

Industry training opportunities are listed below (in order of date of Course/Workshop).

NCEBR 2017 Hands-On Workshop in eBeam Technologies

Dates: March 19-24 2017

Location: Texas A&M University, College Station, Texas USA

The National Center for Electron Beam Research (NCEBR) at Texas A&M University in College Station, Texas serves as an unparalleled venue for academic, government, and industry scientists to carry out strategic electronic pasteurization and sterilization research and commercial projects using eBeam. To address the needs of the food, phytosanitary, agribusiness, and pharmaceutical industries, the NCEBR is organizing a week-long hands-on workshop in eBeam technologies in March 2017. This will be the 8th eBeam workshop, after the first successful workshop in April 2010.

ASTM E61 9th International Workshop on Dosimetry for Radiation Processing

Dates: June 11-15, 2017

Location: Toronto, Ontario, CANADA

Standards published by ASTM International’s Committee E61, many of which are also recognized as ISO standards, will form the basis for the discussions and hands-on exercises. This workshop will cover aspects of dosimetry for radiation processing that can be applied to the processing of food and agricultural products, pharmaceuticals, medical products, inks, packaging, polymers and radiation research. Attendees will use hands-on activities to reinforce the standard practices identified in ASTM standards. The objective is to improve the quality of dosimetry through a better understanding of dosimetry principles, factors influencing dosimeter performance, calibration techniques, dose mapping, and statistical process control.

2017 Risø HDRL Course - Validation and Process Control for E-beam Sterilization

October 23-25, 2017

This course is aimed at users of 80 – 300 keV electron beam irradiation who need traceable dose measurements for documentation of the process. The content of this low-energy course follows the same outline as the high-energy course. The special aspects of dosimeter calibration and dose measurements at low energy electron irradiation are addressed through dosimetry exercises using the Risø HDRL low energy electron accelerator.
